We were contracted to design and install the electrical installation for a new kitchen, which would offer a new service for this nine-floor hotel, enabling it to offer full course meals by their in-house chefs.

The kitchen equipment and appliances were specified by the hotel group, around which we designed the installation.
Safety shutdown systems are a legal requirement in commercial kitchens, but not so where there is no gas supply, or where all the appliances are electric only. Typical systems work by isolating the gas supply in an emergency thereby shutting off the fuel source. Less stringent requirements for all electric appliances mean a shutdown system is not mandatory.
To maintain the high safety standards in this hotel as do other Marriott brand hotels, we were further contracted to design and install a complete safety shutdown system β a first for this hotel and for all-electric appliance kitchens.
We designed, built, and installed a bespoke control panel allowing the kitchen to operate safely, with multiple layers of βprovingβ thereby ensuring maximum safety. The control panel also integrated independently with the hotel fire alarm panel, fire suppression system, and extraction controls.
The system was fully tested and passed a safety audit with flying colours.
